Express Tour of Louis Sullivan's Chicago
Chicago is known for its skyscrapers and Louis Sullivan is often referred to as the father of skyscrapers! Frank Lloyd Wright called him his ``Lieber Meister`` (German for ``Beloved Master``).
On this private tour, I will take you by car to see many of the best Louis Sullivan designed buildings in the city
The tour starts from your hotel with a discussion about Sullivan's background and philosophy on architecture. From there we will drive around the city visiting many of Sullivan's great remaining buildings in the Chicago area. Along the way I will discuss the history and design of each building. Where permitted we will make several stops allowing you to get out and take pictures of the various buildings.
ITINERARY
- I will collect my guests at their location in my car.
- We will then drive around to visit approximately 10 buildings designed by the great architect.
- Depending on timing and traffic I will add or drop buildings from the tour.
- The tour does not include entry to any buildings but we will stop and walk around a couple of the buildings (weather dependent).
- Along the way, I will be discussing the architecture of Louis Sullivan and point out important buildings in Chicago designed by his contemporaries and students.

- Start time is flexible so happy to tailor this to travelers needs.
Total tour time is approx 2. 5 hours and at the end of the tour I will drop guests back to their location of choice if possible.

Tour duration may change due to traffic/road closures. Duration may also change if buildings are dropped or added to tour.
